The cart can be turned off - in Booking Settings → Cart checkout, disable the toggle and clients just see "Book Now" (and free services skip billing altogether): https://support.wix.com/en/article/customizing-the-cart-icon .

Hi, thanks for flagging this and I'm sorry about the double bookings.
This usually happens when an external (Google/iCal) calendar isn't synced two-way, so Wix can't block those times automatically.
